DAY 2: HIGH SCHOOL DAY KICKS OFF IN ARTS DISTRICT

Today, April 4, DIFF welcomes hundreds of students and teachers from more than 40 DFW high schools to this year’s High School Day, a free educational event in association with Downtown Dallas, Inc.

Check in for all participating high school students will be at Klyde Warren Park. Students will split into groups and be directed to various Arts District venues for sessions on:

• Stuntman for the Camera
• Get Your ‘Act’ Together
• VFX 101
• Directing the Actor
• What is Casting?

High School Day is an opportunity for students and educators to network with industry professionals and filmmakers. Students will attend events at the Dallas Museum of Art, the Crow Collection of Asian Art, the Nasher Sculpture Center and Klyde Warren Park.

IN SIDDHARTH, A FATHER’S JOURNEY KNOWS NO BOUNDS

siddharthWhen 12-year-old Siddharth goes missing, his father travels across India in a desperate search to find him. While most people could understand his plight, working class Mahendra makes the journey with no internet, no photograph of his son and no mobile phone.

DOCK ELLIS DOC SEPARATES MAN FROM MYTH

nono_225The story of the Major League pitcher who threw a no-hitter while high on acid has become emblematic of professional baseball’s excess in the 1970s.

NO NO: A DOCKUMENTARY offers a deeper look at the man and myth, Dock Phillip Ellis, Jr., who lived a complicated and fascinating life. “Dock had this Paul Bunyan type character-there were lots of tale tales about him with a shred of truth in all of them,” says director Jeffrey Radice.
